THING.png

Meridian will be integrating Cross-curricular advocacy projects; focused on service learning, advocacy in the community, and positive change in conjunction with SEL Embedded Staff & Student Crew meetings to bolster academic success and properly equip students to be global citizens.

Throughout the year, students will work on curriculum-aligned annual capstone projects. Each project will be rigorous, and deeply embedded in community-based learning. Students will be pushed to develop the necessary skills to advocate towards a solution. Intersecting at the core of Meridian’s mission and values while building community and thus, developing the “Meridian way”.

Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools Accreditation

Middle States Accreditation is the affirmation that a school or other educational institution is providing the level of quality in its educational programs, services, activities, and/or resources expected by its community of stakeholders and endorsed by the education world. When the Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (CESS) accredit a school, they certify that the school meets the prescribed standards of quality of the Middle States Association.

To become accredited, or have its accreditation renewed, by the Middle States Association, a school must demonstrate that it meets the appropriate Standards for Accreditation. Recognizing the unique characteristics of schools and other educational institutions, the Middle States Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools have adopted Standards for Accreditation appropriate for each type of member institution.

A Team of dedicated Meridian staff members (teachers, counselors, principals, etc.) worked to create seven year action plans in the areas of student achievement, student engagement, and out of school support.
