New schedule for 5-8th grade starts March 1 / El nuevo horario para los grados 5-8 comienza el 1 de marzo

Dear Meridian Middle PCS families,
We will be transitioning to a new schedule beginning March 1st. This new schedule will support a few initiatives that Meridian will be offering our students for the third trimester of school year 20-21.
Highlights of the transition:
Genius Hour course where students will benefit from academic interventions and small group learning.
Eighth graders will transition out of College and Career Readiness (CCR) in order to take Physical Education (PE) and Music
Class 7B and Ms. Lewey’s class will now have PE
Some students will be moved to a different section for intervention based on their MAP scoring and assessments (these students and their families have already been notified by email and phone).
We wanted to make you aware so that you can assist your student in the transition process during this time.

Estimadas familias de la escuela intermedia Meridian:
Haremos la transición a un nuevo horario a partir del 1 de marzo. Este nuevo horario apoyará algunas iniciativas que Meridian ofrecerá a nuestros estudiantes para el tercer trimestre del año escolar 20-21.
Aspectos destacados de la transición:
Curso Genius Hour donde los estudiantes se beneficiarán de intervenciones académicas y aprendizaje en grupos pequeños.
Los estudiantes de octavo grado harán la transición de la preparación para la universidad y carrera (CCR) para tomar educación física (PE) y música.
La clase 7B y la clase de Ms. Lewey ahora tendrán educación física
Algunos estudiantes serán trasladados a una sección diferente para la intervención según su puntuación y evaluaciones MAP (estos estudiantes y sus familias ya han sido notificados por correo electrónico y por teléfono).
Queríamos informarle para que pueda ayudar a su estudiante en el proceso de transición durante este tiempo.
