Fall MAP Testing

Testing Dates September 14th - September 25th

Starting September 14th, your child will take two brief tests called Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®). We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.

MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. With MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth. Over two days during the next two weeks, at 9:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm-3:00pm (see dates above), your child will spend a total of about 2 hours completing these tests. Please ensure that your student is logging into live classes during this time and takes both tests.

Once students log into the Zoom for live proctoring, the teachers will provide them with the test session name and password for MAP. Students will not be able to start the test on their own - the teacher will have to start their test after logging in

Each school year, students in grades K - 8 take the tests in September, December and March. Each testing session will only take approximately 2 hours to complete. Following each testing period, you will receive a copy of your student’s score report.

A partir del 14 de septiembre, su hijo/a realizará los exámenes MAP® (por sus siglas en inglés: mediciones de progreso académico), con el fin de determinar el nivel de instrucción y medir el crecimiento educativo durante el año escolar y de año a año, en las áreas de Artes del Lenguaje Inglés y Matemáticas. Su hijo/a hará las evaluaciones por computadora.

Las evaluaciones MAP se distinguen de otros exámenes ya que se adaptan al nivel de desempeño del alumno. De esta manera, permiten que cada estudiante pueda demostrar sus conocimientos y tenga una experiencia positiva al tomarlos. Por otra parte, estos exámenes pueden ser más cortos, por lo que consumen menos tiempo de instrucción en el aula y al mismo tiempo que proporcionan información detallada sobre el crecimiento académico del alumno. Durante dos días durante las próximas dos semanas, de 9:00 AM a 11:00 AM y de 1:00 PM a 3:00 PM (consulte las fechas anteriores), su hijo/a dedicará aproximadamente dos horas para completar las evaluaciones MAP. Asegúrese de que su estudiante inicie sesión en clases en vivo durante este tiempo y tome ambas pruebas.

Una vez que los estudiantes inicien sesión en Zoom para supervisión en vivo, los maestros les proporcionarán el nombre de la sesión de prueba y la contraseña de MAP. Los estudiantes no podrán comenzar la prueba por sí mismos; el maestro deberá comenzar su prueba después de iniciar sesión.

Cada año, los estudiantes de Kinder a octavo grado tomaran las evaluaciones durante el mes de septiembre, diciembre y marzo. Cada sesión de la evaluación tomará aproximadamente 2 horas en completar. Después de cada período de evaluaciones, usted recibirá un informe una copia del reporte de puntuación de su hijo/a.
