8th Grade Prom and Graduation 2019 Details
PROM (6/5)
8th grade prom will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm in the Meridian Elementary School Gym.
The morning of 6/5 all attendees must arrive to school on time by 8:10 am.
8th Grade students will have an early dismissal time of 12:00 pm
Students with more than 2 discipline referrals, 2 unexcused absences or 2 unexcused tardies from 5/13-6/5 will not be permitted to attend the prom
Dress code guidelines and other expectations were explained to all students at the beginning of May; review the presentation to the right or at bit.ly/MPCSProm2019 for more details.
GRADUATION REHEARSAL (6/6)
Graduation rehearsal is on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in the Meridian Elementary School Gym
Students will report directly to the Elementary campus the morning of June 6th by 8:15 am
Students will be served lunch from 10:30 am-11:00 am
Students will be dismissed from the Elementary campus at 11:00 AM (Please make arrangements for younger siblings to be picked up at the regular Thursday dismissal time of 1:00 pm)
Participation in the graduation rehearsal is mandatory for students to participate in the actual graduation ceremony.
GRADUATION (6/7)
Graduation ceremony will be Friday, June 7, 2019 from 9:00-10:00 am in the Meridian Elementary School Gym.
Each 8th grade student will receive four (4) tickets for family or guests
All guests including children over the age of 3 years old must have a ticket to attend
Refreshments will be served immediately afterwards in the elementary school cafeteria from 10:00-10:30 am.
Graduates will leave with their family immediately after reception.
AFTER GRADUATION EXPECTATIONS (6/10-6/13)
Graduates will not be expected to attend classes during the last week of school.
Graduates will not be permitted to loiter around either the Middle School or Elementary School campus. This includes Harrison Park across the street from the Elementary School.
However, graduates will still be allowed to drop off and/or pick up younger siblings from the Elementary campus
Graduates will not be allowed to participate in or attend any field day activities at Harrison Field during the last week of school.
Violation of these expectations may result in consequences determined by Middle School administration.
